For Builders

What is Handover+?

Handover+ is a digital handover and homeowner management platform designed for residential builders. It brings handover documents, homeowner education, maintenance information, property records and post-handover communication together in one place.

How does Handover+ work?

The builder creates a project and adds relevant property information and documents as the project progresses.

As handover approaches, the homeowner is invited to Handover+ to review their information and complete the digital handover process.

After handover, Handover+ remains the central place for property information, maintenance and any issues that arise.

When should I set up a project?

A Handover+ project can be created at any stage of construction, but we recommend setting it up early.

This allows documents, product details, photos, warranties and other information to be added progressively, so everything is organised and ready by handover.

When should I invite the homeowner?

We recommend inviting the homeowner approximately seven days before handover.

This gives them time to download the app, create their account and review the information provided before handover day.

How does the handover process work?

On handover day, the builder starts the handover process within Handover+.

The homeowner works through the required items, acknowledges each one and signs once handover is complete, creating a clear digital record for both builder and homeowner.

Does Handover+ replace my existing project or defect management software?

No. Handover+ is not construction project management or defect management software.

It is specifically designed for handover and post-construction, complementing your existing systems rather than replacing them.

Does Handover+ help protect builders?

Handover+ creates a clear digital record of what information was provided to the homeowner, what they reviewed and what was acknowledged at handover.

It also keeps an ongoing record of post-handover issues and helps educate homeowners about their ongoing care and maintenance responsibilities.

Handover+ does not replace your building contract, statutory obligations, warranties or professional advice.

Can I use Handover+ on all my projects?

Yes. Handover+ is designed to become part of your standard handover and post-handover process across your residential projects.

Projects can be created at the beginning of construction, during the build or as handover approaches.

What information can I provide through Handover+?

You can provide homeowners with manuals, warranties, certificates, finishes, product information, cleaning and maintenance requirements, photos, educational material and key contacts.

It also helps homeowners understand their ongoing responsibilities for caring for and maintaining their new home.

How long do I have access to completed projects?

Completed projects remain accessible through Handover+, giving you a central record of the information provided at handover and the ongoing history of the property.

Can I see whether the homeowner has reviewed the information?

Yes. Handover+ records homeowner activity so you can see what information has been accessed and reviewed before handover.

Can information be changed after handover?

Once formal handover has been completed and signed, the information forming part of the handover record is locked and cannot be altered or deleted.

The project remains active for ongoing access to property information, maintenance reminders and post-handover issue management.

What happens if a homeowner has an issue after handover?

The homeowner logs the issue through the Handover+ app.

The builder is notified and can review and respond to the information provided. This keeps post-handover issues connected to the property and creates a clear record for both parties.

Does Handover+ help with homeowner maintenance?

Yes. Homeowners receive ongoing maintenance reminders based on the information recorded and agreed at handover.

They also retain access to relevant maintenance information, cleaning requirements, manuals and educational material for their property.
